Man arrested after woman found dead in Chilliwack home

The Integrated Homicide Investigation team was called in to a Chilliwack home after a woman was found dead.

On Tuesday just after 1 p.m., Mounties responded to a 911 call at a home on Teton Avenue near Ponderay Street. There, they found the woman, already deceased, as well as a man who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Another man was also found at the home, and IHIT says he was “arrested without incident for murder.”

Police say the incident appears to be isolated among three family members, and they don’t believe there is any risk to the public.

IHIT has taken over the investigation and is working with the Chilliwack RCMP, the BC Coroners’ Service, and the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Service.

The name of the victim isn’t being released for privacy issues.

Anyone with any information about this homicide is being asked to call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
