Pedestrian struck in Chilliwack sustains ‘significant injuries’: police

A pedestrian is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Chilliwack Saturday morning, police say.

Sgt. Grant Floris with the Chilliwack RCMP says the person “sustained significant injuries” in an incident that occurred just before 7 a.m.

Officers say the collision occurred near the intersection of Topaz Drive and Luckakuck Way, and the intersection continues to be shut down while police investigate the incident.

“It’s probably going to be a couple hours yet,” Floris told CityNews around 11:45 a.m., about the reopening of the intersection.

Floris says the cause of the crash is still under investigation and collision analyst reconstructionists remain on scene.
