Man in wheelchair stabbed in stranger attack: Vancouver police

Vancouver police say a man in a wheelchair was stabbed in the neck in what’s being described as a stranger attack over the weekend.

According to the VPD, calls to police came in around 10 a.m. Saturday. Reports said a 34-year-old was stabbed multiple times in the neck in the area of Hastings and Carrall streets.

Police say the suspect is a “high-risk dangerous offender,” adding he “tried to run away but was quickly arrested” by officers who were on patrol in the area.

The victim’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

A motive for the attack isn’t clear at this time.
