Major musicals coming to Vancouver in Broadway Across Canada

It’s a good time to be a fan of live theatre in Vancouver, with four major shows from Broadway Across Canada coming to the Queen Elizabeth for its 2024-25 season.

Organization vice-president Shana Levin says audiences won’t be disappointed with The Lion King, Beetlejuice, Six, and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.

“I would go see every one of them again,” Levin said. “And I’ve seen them all … and I would get something different from that experience, from the first time I saw it or the fifth time that I’ve seen it.”

She expects tickets to go pretty quickly for all the shows, but she wouldn’t be surprised if The Lion King sells out first.

“There is a reason why more than 100 million people around the world have seen that show,” Levin said. “It is truly a spectacle to be seen. It’s so beautiful. And the story and the score is so gorgeous.”

Ticket packages for all four shows start around $220.

In addition to the four main shows this season, Come From Away, Hairspray, The Book of Mormon, Disney’s Frozen, and Riverdance will also grace the stage at the Queen E.
