Mounties investigate suspicious death in Prince George

The Prince George RCMP says the Major Crime Unit has been sent out in response to a suspicious death just outside city limits.

Police responded to reports of a deceased person being found just off the side of Salmon River Forest Road around 3 p.m. Friday.

The RCMP says it is working with the BC Coroners’ Service to investigate the death.

“The public can expect to see an increase in police in the area for the next several days while the investigation continues,” Mounties said in the news release.

They say the death appears to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public.

Police ask anyone who may have seen anything in the area or who may have dash-cam video within the last two weeks to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 and quote File No. 2024-7591.
