Abbotsford woman seriously hurt after being hit by vehicle

Police in Abbotsford say a woman has serious injuries after she was hit by a vehicle in the city early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the intersection of King Road and Riverside Road just after 4 a.m. When they arrived, they found the 52-year-old woman, who was then taken to the hospital.

Police say the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

So far, impairment has been ruled out as a factor in this incident, investigators say.

The intersection of King and Riverside roads will remain closed for the time being as police look into the circumstances around the crash.

The Abbotsford Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen what happened or who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the crash to contact investigators at 604-859-5225.
