Guildford Spring Carnival fight sends one person to hospital

Police are investigating a “possible assault” in Surrey at a public event Saturday night.

Surrey RCMP received a “request for assistance” from the Surrey Fire Department at 9:32 p.m. at Guildford Town Centre during the Spring Carnival event.

Mounties were on the scene trying to determine what had happened when they saw a fight break out.

A female victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Police say a female suspect was taken into custody.

Police do not know if there is any relationship between the victim and the suspect, at the moment.

“The matter is still under investigation,” Sgt. D. Honeyman said.
