Vancouver police are looking for a driver who was involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 66-year-old man last month.
The VPD says it happened on March 7 just after 3 p.m. The man was riding an electric scooter on Union Street and was headed toward Main Street when he “collided with an older box-style Dodge van in the east lane of Main Street.”
Police say the driver of the van left the area before officers arrived.
The 66-year-old was taken to the hospital but died of his injuries two weeks later.
So far, the VPD says investigators have been able to find the box van but would like to speak with the driver.
“Investigators now need to speak with the driver of the van, and anyone who saw the collision, or has dash-cam footage from the area were the collision occurred,” said Const. Tania Visintin.
The VPD is asking anyone who saw what happened or who has video of the incident to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
