Vancouver crash leaves 1 person critically hurt

A crash along a section of East 41st Avenue in Vancouver Thursday afternoon left one person critically hurt and shut the major route for several hours.

The crash happened before 3 p.m., shutting E. 41st Avenue between Quebec and Main streets in both directions until about 6:45 p.m.

Emergency Health Services (EHS) told CityNews in an email that one Advanced Care Paramedic ambulance, one Primary Care Paramedic ambulance, a Critical Care Paramedic educator, and a supervisor responded to the scene.

Brian Twaites, a paramedic public information officer, said, “Paramedics provided emergency medical care and transported one patient to the hospital in critical condition.”

No further details about the patient and their injuries have been provided.

A vehicle was seen in the area heavily damaged and partly crushed into a power pole.
