Surrey police investigate homicide after woman found dead in a home

A woman is dead and the Surrey RCMP says it is investigating a homicide.

Mounties were called out to the area of 76th Avenue and 142nd Street around 8:30 p.m. Friday night after a report of a sudden death of a 33-year-old woman inside a home.

Police say they are gathering evidence and that there is no other information available at this time.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called out to take over the case.

This is an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the public, police say.
