Police asking for public’s help to identify Surrey stabbing suspect

Police are turning to the public to identify a suspect involved in a stabbing in Surrey.

RCMP responded to a report of assault with a weapon on Sunday, May 26 just after 7 a.m. along City Parkway near the Surrey Central Skytrain station.

It says frontline officers were sent to the scene and found a woman who had non-life-threatening injuries.

She was sent to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services, according to police.

Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha, of the Surrey RCMP says there were several people in the area when the stabbing happened.

“It appears that there was an interaction that took place between the suspect male and the female victim prior to the assault,” Sangha said.

Police have shared an image of the suspect in a release.

Mounties are asking the public to call them at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-74750, if they were in the area during that time and recognize the man in the image provided.
