Attempted robbery at UBC leaves one injured

University RCMP are seeking witnesses after an alleged attempted robbery at UBC’s Point Grey campus Wednesday afternoon.

Mounties say they responded to a report of assault with a weapon near the Rose Garden parkade, in the north-west corner of campus, around 1:30 p.m.

The police investigation so far has revealed that the suspect attempted to rob the victim, which led to an altercation where one person was injured.

Police say the victim was transported to hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.”

Sgt. Vanessa Munn says the suspect has not yet been found, but investigators are in the area canvassing for witnesses and video of the incident.
