Man injured after targeted shooting in Kamloops, Mounties say

The Kamloops RCMP is looking for witnesses to what it is calling a targeted shooting that left one man seriously injured Wednesday.
Officers responded to reports of the shooting shortly before 7 p.m. in an area just north of downtown.
The victim — a 40-year-old man who is known to police — was found with non-life-threatening injuries. As well, police discovered a car in the Thompson River.
Minutes later, a burned-out Audi was reported in a neighbourhood about 10 kilometres away.
Then, just after 3 a.m. Thursday, another car — this time a charred BMW — was found about five kilometres away.
Police say the incidents are believed to be related.
“Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and related to the B.C. gang conflict,” said spokesperson Corp. James Grandy
“The Kamloops RCMP’s Target Enforcement Unit is leading the investigation, with support from Serious Crime, General Investigations Unit, Forensics Unit, and frontline officers, to identify the suspect(s).”
Mounties are asking the public to be vigilant as they investigate the incidents.
