Petition to rename Port Coquitlam pool after Deadpool active online

A push to have a swimming pool in Port Coquitlam renamed after a B.C.-born actor is active online.
An online petition that started in February on Change.org calls for the Port Coquitlam Community Centre Wading Pool on Wilson Avenue to be renamed “The Wade Wilson Wilson Wade Pool” after the character played by Ryan Reynolds in the movie “Deadpool”.
The petition was started by “Carly and Jay” who host the afternoon show on JACK 96.9.
On the website, the radio hosts say they started this petition because “Vancouver loves Ryan Reynolds, and Ryan Reynolds loves Deadpool.”
“Wade Wilson is Deadpool’s real name and Deadpool is one of Ryan’s most popular and beloved roles, and also one of the most successful superhero movies of all time,” the petition says.
On the show, Carly says that they are “taking this all the way to the top” and will be talking to the mayor of Port Coquitlam.
“We need your help, maybe one day we can have the real Deadpool here,” she said.
The petition currently has 32 out of a set goal of 50 signatures.
