Police officer injured during arrest in Coquitlam mall parking lot

A police officer received minor injuries while arresting a suspect in the parking lot at a mall in Coquitlam, the RCMP says.
The suspect was arrested early Thursday evening after driving a vehicle into parked cars at Coquitlam Centre on Barnet Highway.
Police responded to the call just after 6 p.m. after receiving multiple reports.
“The suspect then fled the scene but was located a short time later by responding officers,” Mounties told CityNews.
“One person was taken into custody.”
The number of cars involved is unknown and the file is under investigation.
Police say there is no risk to the public.
