1 arrested, 1 hospitalized after another Chilliwack assault Wednesday night

One man is in custody and another is in hospital after an alleged assault in Chilliwack Wednesday night.

The Chilliwack RCMP was called to the Yale Road and Williams Street area just after midnight where officers discovered a man who had been physically assaulted and sustained serious injuries.

The incident happened after a reported shooting in the Avalon Avenue area in Chilliwack mere hours before.

Police say the victim was transported to hospital by ambulance, as they dealt with the suspect.

“Officers quickly identified and arrested a suspect at the scene, and he remains in custody,” Mounties said.

The Chilliwack RCMP is asking anyone with information about the alleged assault to call 604-792-4611 and quote file 2024-32579.
