Motorcyclist dies in Abbotsford crash

Abbotsford police say one person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle Saturday.

According to police, officers were called to the area of Golden Avenue and Trethewey Street just after 3:30 p.m.

“Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle which had collided with a light standard. Tragically, the operator of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries,” AbbyPD said in a release.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Police say road closures are in place in the area.
