B.C. launching Electric Highway system for EV travel all around province

The B.C. government says electric vehicle (EV) drivers will soon be able to drive throughout the entire province.

The province is set to launch its “Electric Highway” system, which is a network of fast-charging stations along all major highways and roadways.

Charging stations will be set up about 150 kilometres apart, running from Alaska, through B.C., and along the west coast down to California.

All of the Electric Highway chargers located in B.C. will be in full operation before the end of the month, the government says.

There are currently more than 5,300 public charging stations across the province, with an overall target of 10,000 stations by 2030.
