After spending three days and nights on her own, a six-year-old girl who was reported missing on Thursday has been found in Northern B.C.
Resources from across the province were enlisted in the search to find the young Burns Lake girl, including Mounties, search and rescue crews, BC Wildfire Service, Canadian Rangers, and other volunteers.
The youngster, who is non-verbal, was found on Sunday night around 6 p.m.
Police say she was in a forested area that had already been searched between her home and the nearby First Nation’s office.
Searchers believe she was likely moving around, so she may not have been in the forest when it was first searched.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Joshua Smith says her discovery was the outcome they all had hoped for, and everyone searching remained dedicated to bringing her home safely.
