Surrey police seek help identifying 3 suspects in stabbing near Central City

The Surrey RCMP is asking for the public’s help identifying three women suspected of stabbing another woman in Whalley earlier this month.

Shortly after midnight on Oct. 6, Mounties responded to the report of an assault on the sidewalk near the Central City shopping mall on University Drive.

Police say the victim was quickly transported to hospital with “serious injuries consistent with a stabbing” by a good Samaritan who was in the area.

In an update Tuesday, the RCMP says its Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and “determined that the victim was attacked by three young women who were not known to her.”

Mounties issued CCTV images of all three young women, who are described as being between 15 and 20 years old.

The first suspect is described as having a medium build, with dark curly hair dyed blonde at the bottom. She was wearing grey sweatpants, a grey hoodie, and white runners. She was also reportedly carrying a dark backpack and a side bag.

The second suspect is described as having a slim build, with long dyed red hair with black roots. She was reportedly wearing black, yoga-style pants with slits in front, a black hoodie and Converse-style shoes.

The third suspect is described as having a medium build and dyed blue hair with blonde bangs. She was reportedly wearing black pants, a bra, a red hoodie with a camouflage pattern, and white shoes.

If you have any information on these three suspects, you’re asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2024-149155.

Last week, Mounties said the victim was recovering from her injuries.

Editor’s note: images of the three suspects have been removed in accordance with the provincial Youth Justice Act.
