Man with weapon arrested in Chilliwack after vehicle incident on Hwy 1: RCMP

Mounties say a man allegedly in possession of a weapon was arrested after a single-vehicle incident on Highway 1 in Chilliwack.

In a release Monday, the Chilliwack RCMP says it happened on Sunday, Nov. 10 in the evening. They say the man was making threats while he had the weapon.

“After a short standoff, the man surrendered to police and he was taken into custody,” they said in the release.

RCMP has not confirmed the type of weapon in their release.

Mounties are continuing their investigation and say charges are being recommended against the man.
