Victoria police are renewing a call for help finding a woman on the 12th anniversary of her disappearance.
Emma Fillipoff has been missing since Nov. 28, 2012. She was 26 years old at the time and was last seen near the Empress Hotel between 7 and 8 p.m., according to the website findemma.ca.
A year-and-a-half after she went missing, on May 27, 2014, a man — whom police refer to as “green shirt guy” — was seen in Gastown, claiming to be Fillipoff’s boyfriend.
The man’s nickname refers to the fact that he was caught on CCTV footage at that time and was wearing a green t-shirt.
A forensic artisc has created an age-progressed image of Fillipoff, showing what she might look like now.
At the time of disappearance, Fillipoff was described as five-foot-five, weighing 90-100 pounds with brown eyes and long hair.
The man in the green shirt is described as six-feet tall with dark hair and “swirly flame” tattoos on both arms. Police say he appeared to walk with a limp, with his left knee and foot turned inward.
The Victoria Police Department is asking anyone with information on Fillipoff’s whereabouts or the identity of the man caught on CCTV footage to call them at 250-995-7654, ext. 1, and quote file 12-47309.
