Two men were arrested and are facing several charges after an alleged crime spree in Port Moody’s Heritage Mountain neighbourhood last week.
The Port Moody Police Department says it responded to a report of two suspicious men attempting to break into vehicles just before 5 a.m. on Nov. 28.
“When frontline officers attended the area, they located vehicles with smashed windows then located and arrested both suspects,” police said Monday.
The two men will reportedly remain in custody until their next court appearance Tuesday.
The men are suspected of stealing:
- IDs,
- garage door openers,
- cash,
- watches,
- clothing items,
- and sunglasses.
“Since then, multiple victims have reported thefts from their vehicles, and police are in the process of returning stolen items to their rightful owners,” said police, adding that the department does not believe the crimes to be related to a residential break-and-enter in the area days prior.
Other potential victims are asked to contact the Port Moody Police Department.
