Two BC Ferries sailings cancelled on major route Saturday evening

Bad news if you’re looking to go to Vancouver Island Saturday evening: BC Ferries has cancelled a pair of sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay due to mechanical issues.
The 6:35 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. sailings departing from Horseshoe Bay have been scrapped.
The 8:05 p.m. sailing is still scheduled.
The service also says a few sailings have been affected on the Horseshoe Bay to Langdale route.
The sailings there include the 6:30 p.m., 8:40 p.m., and 10:55 p.m. leaving Horseshoe Bay. The 7:30 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. sailings leaving Langdale have also been cancelled.
BC Ferries says if you have a booking on one of the cancelled sailings, the customer care centre will be in touch to rebook or refund you if you have to cancel.
