Surrey police investigating targeted arson of 3 commercial trucks

By Ryan Bowles

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is looking into what it believes is a targeted arson attack that took place early Tuesday morning.

Just after 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of three big trucks in flames outside a business on 78 Avenue.

Surrey firefighters were working to extinguish the fires when police arrived. Police said three different five-ton box trucks belonging to a local business had been set ablaze. There was no damage to other buildings or vehicles nearby.

In a statement, the SPS said the motive for the arson is unknown, but evidence indicates it being a targeted attack.

Officers said they believe two suspects left the area wearing all black in a dark-coloured sedan.

The SPS is asking anyone with information on this incident to contact police at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2025-5896.
