Man charged after weekend Surrey stabbing

Surrey police say a man has been charged after a stabbing in the Cloverdale neigbourhood Sunday.

Police say the RCMP support unit was called to a report of a woman stabbed by a man in a home on Sundance Drive near 63 Avenue around 12:30 p.m.

In an update Monday, the Surrey Police Service (SPS) says a publication ban is in place regarding certain details related to the incident, but has disclosed that a man is now facing five criminal charges.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, breaking and entering, mischief, and failing to comply with an ‘undertaking.’

Police say the man remains in custody until his next court appearance on Friday.
