Vancouver police identify victim of homicide at CRAB Park

Vancouver police have identified the victim found killed Saturday at CRAB Park in the city’s first homicide of the year.

The Vancouver Police Department was called to the waterfront park north of Gastown just before 8:30 a.m. on March 22 after a man’s body was found on the beach.

In an update Tuesday, the VPD says the victim has been identified as 51-year-old Brett MacDonald.

Police say MacDonald was “found deceased by a passerby on the north west side of Crab Park along the gravel path.”

Investigators believe the homicide was targeted, though no arrests have yet been made.

Police are asking anyone with any information to call the Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500.
