ICBC to send customers $110 rebate

B.C.’s auto insurer says customers can expect a little cash this spring.

ICBC says customers who were insured at the beginning of the year will be eligible for the $110 rebate.

“The rebates total $410 million and apply to all personal and commercial customers who had an active eligible Basic insurance policy in January 2025,” it explained in a release Wednesday.

The auto insurer says this marks the fifth rebate since Februrary 2021.

The rebate was announced in the 2025 provincial budget at the beginning of the month.

“This rebate is just one small way for ICBC to give back to its customers as we all navigate global economic uncertainty and increased costs in the face of unjustified tariffs,” said Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Garry Begg.

The province adds that the base ICBC insurance rate will not be increasing in 2025. It will remain at the same rate through March 31, 2026, “marking six years in a row with no increases, keeping rates more affordable for British Columbians.”

Eligible drivers can expect to get a letter in the mail that includes the rebate amount and details on how it will be paid.

ICBC says it has already started delivering 3.7 million rebates.
