Lillooet ER closed, again, overnight Wednesday

The Interior Health Authority says the emergency room in Lillooet will be closed, once again, overnight Wednesday until Thursday morning.

Emergency services will be unavailable from 7p.m. until 8 a.m. Thursday.

Patients are being asked to visit the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, the nearest hospital, roughly 170 kilometres from Lillooet.

People needing life-threatening emergency care are advised to call 911 for transport.

Earlier this month, Lillooet Mayor Laurie Hopfl told 1130 NewsRadio residents face a life-threatening situation if they suffer a heart attack, stroke, or severe injury.
