The Vancouver Police Department says it has arrested two people after it received reports of a stolen vehicle Saturday evening.

Sgt. Steve Addison says the suspects, aged 18 and 19, attempted to flee from a traffic stop near Denman Place Mall in the West End.

Police say the teens were armed with handguns when they were arrested at Denman and Pendrell Street.

Addison says one of the suspects was Tasered.

“Suspects received medical attention and remain in custody,” he said.

The suspects struck two vehicles as they were fleeing, the VPD says. One of the vehicles was occupied when it was hit, but there were no life-threatening injuries, he says. The second vehicle was parked.

Addison says police anticipate the pair will face multiple criminal charges.
