Vancouver power outages affect more than 20,000

Outages affected more than 20,000 BC Hydro customers in southeast Vancouver Monday morning.

Substation faults have left thousands without power in areas from Broadway to SE Marine Drive, between Cambie Street and Boundary Road.

BC Hydro says it expected to have power restored to Vancouver customers by 10:30 a.m.

According to the BC Hydro website as of 10:20 a.m., only approximately 1,200 customers were still experiencing outages.

By 10:40 a.m., the number had declined to less than 100 Vancouver customers affected.

Across the entire Lower Mainland and Sunshine Coast, approximately 33,000 customers had been affected by outages Monday morning.
