Surrey police seeking Mandir vandalism suspects

Police in Surrey are seeking the public’s help identifying suspects after two religious temples in Metro Vancouver were vandalized on the same night.
Earlier this week, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) announced it opened an investigation on April 19 after two suspects spray-painted walls of the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara on Ross Street near Marine Drive.
Police believe a white Dodge pickup truck that drove through the area around the time of the alleged offence — between 4 and 4:30 a.m. — is connected to the vandals.
On Friday, the Surrey Police Service (VPD) announced it was investigating after two suspects vandalized the Shree Lakshmi Narayan Mandir — also on April 19.
Police say suspects wearing face coverings spray-painted multiple building pillars and a sign outside the mandir, a Hindu temple on the 140 Street near 84 Avenue, around 3 a.m.
“The suspects were travelling in a white pickup truck believed to be a Dodge.”
The SPS has released CCTV images, hoping the public can help to identify the suspects and suspect vehicle.

Police say dashcam footage of the surrounding roadways between 3 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. would be of particular interest.
The SPS did not say if the two incidents are related but said investigators are collaborating with their VPD counterparts.
