Port Coquitlam road closed after driver strikes pedestrian

A road off Lougheed Highway in Port Coquitlam is closed Tuesday afternoon after a driver struck and injured a pedestrian.

The Coquitlam RCMP says paramedics called officers to the intersection of the highway and Oxford Connector around 12:20 p.m. for a motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian.

The driver remained on scene and the pedestrian was transported to hospital. Police did not disclose the pedestrian’s condition.

A portion of Oxford Connector will be closed, and motorists are asked to avoid the area while investigators work.
