Fatal shooting under investigation in Penticton

Penticton RCMP are investigating the death of a 21-year-old woman over the weekend.

Authorities responded to a call regarding a shooting at a Lakeshore Drive apartment on Saturday morning.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and assure the public there is no ongoing risk.

A suspect was arrested at the time of the incident and has since been released pending further investigation.

The Penticton RCMP Investigative Services has taken over the homicide investigation.

“This is a tragic event. We would like to offer our condolences to the victim’s friends and family at this time,” said Sgt. Scott Hanry from the Penticton RCMP.
