One person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Highway 1 through Langley, Mounties tell 1130 NewsRadio.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, the highway reopened to all westbound traffic at 248th Street, Drive BC says.

Sgt. Zynal Sharoom says crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the area shortly before 6 p.m.

“The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called to the scene to assist with this investigation,” he said.

The highway was closed to all westbound traffic at 248th Street, police say.

On Thursday, Sharoom explained that the closure of this portion of Highway 1 may last several hours, and motorists are being asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.

Sharoom said traffic was redirected to the 264 Street exit.
