HWY 1 east of Chilliwack cleared after jack-knifed semi crash

Highway 1 east of Chilliwack has reopened in all directions after a crash involving a semi truck Friday morning.

Callers to 1130 NewsRadio first reported the crash around 7 a.m.

A semi truck reportedly hit the guardrail travelling westbound just before Annis Road, knocking the guardrail into eastbound traffic.

Both directions were temporarily blocked. In an update around 8:15 a.m., DriveBC announced that the eastbound lanes had reopened.

Around 11:45 a.m., Drive BC announced that westbound lanes had reopened as well.

The RCMP’s Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment says emergency crews are on scene. Details are limited, but Mounties say “injuries are minor.”
