“It’s truly special to be starting our season at home in the Pacific Coliseum. As a little girl, I dreamed of this moment, and I can’t wait to live it with my teammates and the fans on November 21,” said Vancouver forward Jenn Gardiner.
The league first announced expansion to Vancouver in April, amid its second season. Expansion to Seattle was announced later that month, making eight total teams.
Since then, the Vancouver team named Brian Idalski as head coach and Cara Gardner Morey as general manager.
Cream and Pacific Blue are Vancouver’s official colours, but so far, the PWHL has not announced a team logo or name. Among those reportedly being considered for Vancouver are the ‘Griffins,’ the ‘Breakers,’ and the ‘Glaciers.’
Five days after its inaugural game, Vancouver will visit Ottawa to play the Charge.
