Shots fired at Surrey home twice in 1 week

A South Surrey home has been targeted twice by two separate shootings just days apart. Joe Sadowski has more.

A home in Surrey became the target of gunfire Wednesday evening for the second time in less than a week.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it responded to reports of shots fired at the house on 32 Avenue near 168 Street around 7:30 p.m.

“This is the second time this address has been targeted, and the incident is extortion related,” police explained.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, the SPS was called to the same home around 8:30 a.m. and confirmed damage to the exterior by gunshots.

A man working on an exterior part of the home suffered a non-life-threatening injury Saturday, but police say no one was injured in Wednesday’s shooting.

Anyone with information or video related to the incidents is asked to call the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-62774 (SU).

As of Thursday, the SPS says it is investigating 95 extortion-related reports since the start of the year — 44 incidents have been linked to shots fired.
