Richmond Hospital runs on backup generators after temporary power outage

A temporary power outage caused multiple traffic lights to shut off around Westminster Highway and Gilbert Road in Richmond Wednesday afternoon.

Additionally, 3,000 BC Hydro customers were affected.

Power had been fully restored to the Richmond area by Wednesday evening.

During the outage, the Richmond Hospital ran on backup generators, BC Hydro said.

A company spokesperson tells 1130 NewsRadio that no specific cause has been identified yet.
