Abbotsford police investigating fatal targeted stabbing

One person is dead after what the Abbotsford Police Department is calling a targeted incident.

Officers were called to a home in the area of McCrimmon Drive near Maple Street shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday after a report of a stabbing.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

“Despite lifesaving medical efforts of first responders, the man succumbed to his injuries at hospital,” Sgt. Paul Walker said.

A man was arrested at the scene.

The investigation is still in its early stages. Police say there is no risk to public safety in the area.
