Stolen mobility bike for child with special needs has been returned, says Ridge Meadows RCMP

The RCMP said Tuesday that a stolen mobility bike, belonging to a child with special needs, has been found and returned.

The bike was reported stolen from a Maple Ridge store on 224th Street near 118th Avenue Friday afternoon.

Police then put out an appeal to the public for help returning the bike, a black Volt Trio Trike with a car seat on the back, to its owner.

“Over the past few days, officers had made investigative inquiries and received a few tips from the public before the bike was eventually turned into the detachment anonymously earlier this afternoon,” the Ridge Meadows RCMP said.

Staff Sgt. Kuldeep Dhillon says the child and family are grateful for the return.

“The owner was very appreciative of everyone’s efforts, especially being new to the community, and helping make the holidays a little brighter for their family,” said Dhillon.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can call the Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251 and refer to file 2025-26591.
