Charges laid, warrant issued for Burnaby shooting suspect

The Burnaby RCMP says charges have been laid and a warrant has been issued in connection with a shooting that sent a man to hospital with gunshot injuries.

Mounties were called to the area of Phillips Avenue and Woodbrook Place shortly before 9 p.m. on Dec. 19 after a report that someone had been shot.

“When frontline officers arrived, they located a man with gunshot wounds,” police said.

“The man was transported to the hospital and received medical care.”

The shooting is believed to be targeted.

After an investigation, the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Ronin Tajali of Burnaby.



On Dec. 25, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges of discharge of a firearm with intent, aggravated assault, and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

Tajali is described as being 5’6″ tall and 150 pounds with green eyes and short black hair.

“Ronin Tajali’s current whereabouts are unknown,” the RCMP said.

“Police are advising anyone that sees Ronin Tajali to call 911 and do not approach him.”

Anyone with information on Tajali’s wherabouts is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP, ask for the Investigative Support Team, and refer to file 2025-44140.
