Pedestrian hit while walking along HWY 1 through Surrey

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit while walking along Highway 1 Friday evening.

Police were called to the area near 160th Street in the westbound lanes shortly after 8:30 p.m.

Sgt. Tige Pollock of the Surrey Police Service tells 1130 NewsRadio the pedestrian had non-life-threatening injuries.

“The involved driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police,” Pollock said.

The crash is under investigation.
