Vancouver-based influencer charged with human trafficking: RCMP

A Vancouver-based social media influencer is facing six charges following an investigation into a man suspected of involvement in human trafficking, the BC RCMP says.

The investigation, which was initiated in May 2025, resulted in charges being laid against 31-year-old Tevin Douglas, including trafficking in persons, procuring a person to provide sexual services, material benefit from trafficking, advertising sexual services, and sexual assault.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between July and December 2023. The victim is alleged to have been trafficked throughout the Lower Mainland and the Greater Toronto Area.

Charges were approved Feb. 20, police say.

Douglas was arrested at his Vancouver home, where a search warrant was then executed, according to the RCMP.

On Feb. 24, he was released on numerous conditions.

“Human trafficking is rarely confined to a single victim or even a single province,” said Insp. Lyndsay O’Ruairc of the BC Counter Human Trafficking Unit.

“Investigators believe there are individuals with additional information who have not yet come forward.”

Anyone who is concerned that they or someone they know may be a victim of human trafficking, or is looking for more information, can call the Centre to End Human Trafficking’s 24/7 hotline at 1-833-900-1010 or visit. canadianhumantraffickinghotline.ca.
