Driver hits person in mobility scooter rider in Maple Ridge

The Ridge Meadows RCMP says it is investigating a crash in which the driver of a vehicle struck a person on a mobility scooter on Monday in Maple Ridge.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. at the intersection of 119 Avenue and 228th Street.
CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO 1130 NEWSRADIO VANCOUVER LIVE!Police say that the 91-year-old victim was in serious condition and that the BC Emergency Health Service transported them to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with police.



Officers add that the area is closed for traffic while the Investigative Support Team and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are investigating the incident.
