Man arrested after alleged crime spree in Port Moody

On April 26, the Port Moody Police Department (PMPD) was called to a report of a possible theft in the Ioco Road corridor.
A caller stated they saw a man rummaging through multiple cars in the residential neighbourhood.
CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO 1130 NEWSRADIO VANCOUVER LIVE!PMPD attended the area but were unable to locate the suspect. They did however obtain security footage of the suspect and incidents.
About an hour later, the man was located by officers several kilometres away and arrested without incident.
The man was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.
The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved two counts of mischief and five counts of breaching a release order against 31-year-old Marc Smaaslet.
