Vancouver’s Published on Main and AnnaLena among best North American restaurants

Two Vancouver eateries made the list of the best 50 restaurants in North America.
Published on Main and AnnaLena are ranked 17th and 35th, respectively.

The company is famous for its The World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking, which it has been publishing since 2002.
The Eight in Calgary, also winning the award for highest newcomer restaurant, made it all the way to place two.
And another Canadian restaurant won Bronze: Restaurant Pearl Morissette, located about 30 kilometres west of Niagara Falls in Ontario, also took home the Art of Hospitality Award.
Montreal’s Mon Lapin placed fifth overall; Quetzal in Toronto made eighth place, and Whistler’s Wild Blue is in place 47.
In total, 14 Canadian eateries made the list.
The North American ranking covers restaurants in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.
The list is compiled based on the votes of 300 experts who are, according to William Reed, represent “a balanced mix of chefs, restaurateurs, food and beverage journalists, educators and well-travelled gourmets.”
The judges remain anonymous, and the polling period took place over a stretch of two years.
