A man had his car impounded after he was stopped while trying to speed to the golf course, according to the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD).
Police say they clocked the 55-year-old man driving 112 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone near King Road and Lefeuvre.
“When the driver was pulled over, he was apologetic but told the officer he was late for his tee time,” the AbbyPD said.
“The driver ended up calling for a ride-share vehicle with his golf clubs in tow.”
Police say excessive speeders face mandatory seven-day vehicle impoundments and “hefty fines.”
Abbotsford police say they have impounded the vehicles of 218 excessive speeders so far this year.
