Saturday morning shooting in Surrey: SPS

Surrey Police Service (SPS) says they responded to calls of a shooting outside a house in the East Clayton neighbourhood Saturday morning.

Around 8 a.m., SPS say they found one victim who had been shot and was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

The residence was located near 74 Avenue and 184 Street.

Police say that when they arrived on scene, the suspect had left, but there was evidence of gunshots being fired.

The victim was taken by BC Emergency Services to the hospital for treatment, say the SPS.

Police say the investigation is in the early stages, but initial reports say the incident is targeted but not extortion-related.

The investigation has been taken over by SPS’s Major Crime Section and is being aided by the Integrated Forensic Identification Services, say police.

SPS is looking for anyone who may have dashcam footage or may know the identity of the suspect to contact them at 604-599-0502 and quote file #26-77779 (SP).
