The Mission RCMP says it is asking the public for help identifying a man who died after being hit by a train in July.
Police say sometime before 7:30 a.m. on July 11, the man was struck on the tracks south of Lougheed Highway, near the intersection of Highway 11 in Mission.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Despite pursuing various investigative avenues – including reviewing outstanding missing persons reports – police and the BC Coroners Service have not yet been able to identify the man, and are now releasing a sketch of him in hopes that someone will recognize him,” the RCMP said Wednesday.
“He is believed to have been approximately 160 centimetres (5’3”) tall, and of slim build. It is unknown whether he was from Mission or another community.”
Anyone who recognizes the person in the sketch is asked to call the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 and refer to file 2026-9077.
Mounties remind the public not to cross train tracks outside of designated crossings.
